Complete
So I lift my eyes to You, Lord
In Your strength will I break through, Lord
Touch me now, let Your love fall down on me
I know Your love dispels all my fears
Through the storm I will walk on, Lord
And by faith I will walk on, Lord
Then I'll see, beyond my calvary one day
And I will be complete in You.

one question that i have stumbled across : what are you living for?
some may say to enjoy life, some may say get closer to God and all, some have amazing things they want to accomplish. Well then a second question: You have a perspective of what you WANT to do in life. But is it really what you STRIVE to do everyday?
take the example of a man whose main goal in life is to be like Jesus and have a strong relationship with God. He is an active member in his ministry at church, he does not drink, smoke, or any bad deeds. He treats his friends well. No doubt, very good. However, he swears and spews vulgarities.
some people may say, what's wrong with vulgarities? i can don't insult anyone, just say it. well. the Bible adresses this question, in James 3:9.
"With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in god's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?"
we may not have broken any of the ten commandments (e.g murder and so on), but we have sinned in many small ways, and an insult compared to murder is no different, it is still sin.
so then, how should we live our lives?
we can never be perfect. we can try to cut off vulgarites and so on from our lives, but when sinners like you and me are involved, we will DEFINITELY mess something up somewhere. so then, what can we do?
we try to cut them off. then, assuming we have done so, we should be repentful. but, we cannot take repentance for granted. it would be the same as saying. oh. i've sinned from monday to friday. nevermind lah i'll go to church on saturday or sunday and repent. THAT IS NEVER A WAY TO TREAT REPENTANCE.
do we pray regularly? one key thing. from what i think (and from my experience), we only pray sincerely when we are in a deep mess and we are asking God for a way out from the consequences. and it would be a really serious problem. think about it. If you were convicted on murder, and have a high chance of a death sentence. Boy, you would pray like never before that the charge would be reduced, or you might be acquitted. then assuming you have been cleared, after a while, you will be back to your old ways, not praying.
prayer is something we have to do everyday. there are no shortcuts, there is no half-heartedness. it is something we have to commit to. we have to remember that prayer is essential. a relationship with God about prayer and honesty and many more, and it is NEVER about music.
Matt Redman wrote "the heart of worship" and in the verse, it says " when the music fades, all is stripped away, and i simple come" and "i'll bring you more than a song, for a song in itself, is not what you have required"
will you still have that spiritual high without praise and worship songs? you may say yes, but do you really feel that way?
When God takes away your loved ones, your family, takes away EVERYTHING that you have. Literally everything. would you still praise him?
