Complete
So I lift my eyes to You, Lord
In Your strength will I break through, Lord
Touch me now, let Your love fall down on me
I know Your love dispels all my fears
Through the storm I will walk on, Lord
And by faith I will walk on, Lord
Then I'll see, beyond my calvary one day
And I will be complete in You.

hey people i'm back from youth camp!
great time i had with the youths, and also my short one week stint of being on my own! (parents and sis went to switzerland)
i wouldn't talk bout WHAT happened in the camp, too much to blog about anyways! :)
rather, i'll post up the stuff i learnt from neale's sessions!
DAY 1
- Eternity Inn
- Life is about the choices you make
- Which path are you on?
- John 10:1-15
- from Genesis to Revelations (my fav book!) , God chooses men to be compared with sheep
- honestly, who wants to be compared to sheep?!?
- why does God compare us with sheep?
- BECAUSE we, like sheep, tend to go astray and go our own way, thinking there are greener
pastures somewhere else
- How does God deal with us? (Isaiah 53)
- sometimes when we wander away from God, on the outside it isn;t visible but in the inside it is
- We feel dry, pray blindly, so on. That is when we have to be careful, or we may take one step
too far.
- BUT, there is no sin, no distance far enough for the good shepherd.
- John 10:27-29
- Which direction are YOU heading? Closer to God or further away?
- try to listen to what God is saying to you
- Sometimes God's reason is something you don't want.
- If i say suffering builds character, would you want to go through suffering?
- God DOES lead you out to green pastures
- God's rules are not meant to bind us, but to benefit us.
- Jesus, like sheep, was shaved (stripped of clothes) and eventually slaughtered.
- but the prophet prophesized that it would be better for one man to die in the place of others.
- the sheep's wool is shaved; sacrificed so that others will have warm clothes
- Jesus was sacrificed, so that we may have eternal life
- God doesnt over protect us.
- it is still our choice
- Jesus says that no one can snatch the sheep out of His hands.
- But he doesn't say that the sheep will not be able to go out of His hand on its will.
- Therefore, it is our choice if we want to stray away.
- GET OUT OF YOUR SPIRITUAL COMFORT ZONE
- How do you recognize God's voice?
- close your eyes, and ask a friend to talk to you.
- you immediately recognize the friend, because you KNOW him/her, have TALKED with them, have LISTENED to them, and have KNOWN them FOR A WHILE
- this should be the same for your relationship with God.
- KNOW him, LISTEN to him, TALK to him, and you will recognize His voice as His own, and
not as your mind talking to you.
- Sin is taking a place in our lives.
- are there things that block God/ replace Him as the centre of our life?
- if we only pray to God in times of trouble, then we will NOT recognize his voice.
DAY 2
- Jeremiah 13:1
- God uses visual aids to speak to His people
- Relationship between men and a pair of shorts = up close and and VERY personal
- Same for God and man.
- God wanted jeremiah to have a personal relationship with Him
- DO YOU know why you are alive?
- God already had a son. He had such a good relationship with Him that He wanted a bigger family.
- it all boils down to having that personal, intimate relationship with God
- God says there shouldn't be a day that goes by where you shouldnt have a personal relationship with Him
DAY 3
- John 21
- What make the difference between success and failure?
- Jesus
- Then we follow Christ rather than ourself, we have success
- Peter
- he told Jesus that he would follow Jesus to the very end
- But in the end he did not
- We have to watch what we promise (prayer, songs)
- our spirit may be willing but our flesh is weak
- Peter denied with curses even knowing Jesus
- Luke 22:61
- Jesus turned around and look straight into his eyes (Peter)
- what was the look on Jesus' face?
- anger? indignation?
- NO! it was love. love betrayed
- That is what happens when we follow Jesus at a distance
- Minister = servant/ helper
- Jesus was the minister
- Jesus " Do you love me?"
- Agape = Class 1 love
- Philia = class 2 love
- Even if our love is this small ---> .
- so long as it is real, The Lord says you can go on.
- Jesus " Follow me"
"Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible, but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others." 1 Corinthians 10:23-24
