watched the pursuit of happyness again
and this time, i got down the full gist of the story
and to tell you the truth, it is a really inspiring story
and worth every cent to watch.
the story basically revolves around Chris Gardner, who never knew his father until 28 years old. After graduating from high school, he could not further his education, and ends up working as a medical supplies salesman. However, the economic slump that San Fransisco was in at that time took its toll on him and soon, he ends up bankrupt, with only $21.33 to his name. He was arrested for failure to pay parking tickets, and also had to resort to not paying a taxi fare. Additionally, he also Also, his wife leaves him. All that Chris has left is his son, and some posessions. He even has to sleep at a train station toilet. Finally, he lands himself an internship at Dean Witter's, and begins 6 months of hard work. Everyday, after work he would pick his son up, then queue at the church shelter for a place to sleep during the night.
i mean, it is really a motivational story.
his wife leaves him,
he has no money,
no place to sleep
no education
and still, with all the odds against him
he manages to secure a job at Dean Witter,
and in a few years become a multi-billionaire.
as a result of his perseverance, hard work, wits,
and never giving up his dream.
