Ah man, finally a whole week of VBS is over. (For the uninitiated, VBS is Vacation Bible School, or also called Sonforce Kids, which is the camp theme)
For 5 whole days, children ranging from k1 to p6 come for a day camp where they learn about God's word, as well as have a great time of fun and laughter with other children, along with making new friends!
The days were rather simple. Praise and worship in the morning, then afternoon would be a rotation basis of art and craft, games, bible lessons, and tea breaks. It was a real eye opener to try and control kids so young, though yes for the first 3 days I was not attached to a group and was slacking (not really la i'm a sai gang worker). In the end I was attached to Mallory's group (Gallant Gizmo) and yes, I'm a hard worker! I got to know many kids, some of them from my church, others not. Nonetheless, I thank God for letting me know all these kids, and that they have truly let me realize how enriching and fun is it to be around kids. (:
Wednesday was outing day, and we all went to Qian Hu Fish Farm. Nothing too interesting though, I only like fish when I can eat it. I saw lots of species of fish, and their exorbitant prices, and wondered as to HOW THE HECK they can pay for such expensive fish. Ah well, at least the kids had a great time. Wanted to go for the fish spa, but cannot la, no time. Or else I'll have smooth and heavenly skin. (And everyone would start laughing now)
I got to know many people, and I think that, for me, was the highlight of the camp. Some cute kids like:
1. Jessica Ong (yes she's cute)
2. Jessica Quek (child prodigy, and cute also)
3. Jodi Seet (what a pain xD)
4. Jerald Seet (arguably the cutest boy in the camp)
5. Udella Tee (miss poke-a-lot)
6. Ulvis Tee (her brother, same properties)
7. David Lee (ah i still know him)
8. Shaniah (hardworking and cute)
9. Christopher (what a pain.)
and tons more la, but it'll be too hard to name. In any case, I'm glad to have known these children.
Also, I got to know many of the helpers, and seriously I was also encouraged to see helpers like Marc, Daniel all coming for VBS. Debbie, Kathy, Mallory, Rachel, Eliza, Eleanor, Shawn Ho, Shawn Shantilal, Georgia May, Sonia Shantilal, many more whom I rarely see during teens or such, but here they are.
