Complete
So I lift my eyes to You, Lord
In Your strength will I break through, Lord
Touch me now, let Your love fall down on me
I know Your love dispels all my fears
Through the storm I will walk on, Lord
And by faith I will walk on, Lord
Then I'll see, beyond my calvary one day
And I will be complete in You.

Ladies and Gentlemen this is my 2007 AAR (After-action review). You are kindly requested to put your seat in the upright position and keep your tray-tables locked, with your seatbelt securely fastened, and any hand-carry luggage to be either stowed in the overhead compartments or under the seat in front of you. We are now approaching the time for our descent, all passengers are kindly requested to return and remain in your seats.
WHEW got that over. (: Still can't recover from my Greece trip.
Okay lah really it's been an eventful year in SA (2007). St John, especially training and seeing my batch grow up, its really touching in a way. How we narrowly lost in competition, me losing my cool in front of the ACS people, some of the judges because the ACS casualties were either too fake or helping the ACS teams and so on. But, then they went to do BGI training, and their NCO camp, and me nearly with them every step of the way, snapping with the school's SLR, and taking all the unglam and CONTROVERSIAL shots, ah well.
Then in school, basically it was a year for the 3SE/4SE to buck up and study hard for the Os, driving our beloved Chem Yeo to the roof, also driving Add Maths Yeo to near insanity (more like vice-versa huh?) and all. Funny la you guys. In the end we did relatively well (okay la most of us sucked) and hopefully we got into the places we wanted for the first 3 weeks (I'm going to CJC if you guys are still uninitiated). School, also happy to be given the chance to command two parades, and shout like mad, wearing the uniform, and really like being the face of SA UGs like that (yeah it sounds egotistical but ah well) And seeing how the class bonded on Grad Night, really amazing.
Thanks also to friends like Joshua Khoo, Henry, Jotham, Jeremy, Rico, Elephant Mark, and tons more for being a listening year when I had to ramble my troubles to. Joshua, great bro for cab rides, Henry...still short as always but its okay great friend to talk to, and also great to see you growing in the Lord. Jotham, what can I say, friends since p4 and still going. Jeremy, my really true friend, since p2 and still a great tennis/movie/lunch buddy! Rico, no need to say, Mr Brightside. Elephant Mark, for slacking on EVERY LITERATURE PROJECT, making me do all the work while you either sms girls or play bball on your phone. (:
OF COURSE TO DARIUS, MY WONDERFUL SPARRING BUDDY FROM SCHOOL, ENJOYING FRIENDLY FIGHTS IN SCHOOL, WE GET SERIOUS WITH FIGHTS BUT WE ALWAYS KNOW WHEN TO DRAW THE LINE AND WHEN TO COOL OFF.
Finally to my church mates, you guys really proved the encouraging point for me. My cell, which truly a bunch of idiots but I love them all the same, LAN party always and all. 2007 was also the year Shani came in, great to know him and to develop a great friendship. 2007 also = the year VBS was done, I became more known the the kids in church, and to helpers like Mallory and Kathy and Debbie and Eleanor and Shawn Shantilal and many more who were unknown to me, got to know them better at the VBS. Eye-opener for me also. I also became part of a great team known as the Fellowship Ministry, with a weird but great leader Eugene, and a great team as well.
Ah yes, and the youth camp. A GREAT time, first time planning games, was VERY discouraged on the first day, and I always had that constant nagging feeling that the majority did not enjoy my games, thought it was lame, or I did not have enough fun or imagination incorporated in my games, but on the testimony time, I could hear that many people really enjoyed the games, and it really encouraged me. Thanks to people like Desmond, Jeremiah, Kenneth and Zhengqin for the encouragement you guys gave me. Also in the camp, got to know A LOT of people better, like Valerie, Georgia May, David, Marc, Belle, Brian, Reuben, Neale, Jun Kai and a lot more, also Pei Ying who's a great friend, also to Shaun and Lyndon for all the help you guys gave (great friends too)
And finally today, Carols by Candlelight/Christmas Dedication Service, where I got to be part of the Security and Road Marshals team with Winstion, Samuel, Marc, Daniel, Kevin, Jonathan and (very impromptu) Jeremy. Great working with you guys man.
2008 comes. Godspeed skipper.
We have just arrived at Changi International Airport, the temperature is a cool 27 degrees, with cloudy weather forecasted for the next 5 hours. For your own safety, please do not leave your seats, or unfasten your seatbelts until the aircraft has come to a complete stop. Passengers who are visiting Singapore, you are required to complete an immigration card which was given out by the cabin crew earlier. Good afternoon and have a nice day. Godspeed.
